Draft Minutes of the Meeting of Langworth Group Parish Council held at
Langworth Memorial Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday 6 January 2026
 
NOTE: These are draft notes only and subject to final approval at the February 2026 meeting, therefore may be subject to change.
 
Present:  Cllrs M Herbert (Chairman), R Waite, A Curtis, A Hyatt, J Jarvis, P Bowser, C/Cllr and D/Cllr T Bridgwood, Mrs M Vail (Clerk). There was one member of the public.
 
Meeting began at 7.33pm
   
1. Public Forum: No matters raised.
 
2. Apologies: Cllrs K Tyrrell, S Taylor, H Stilgoe-McCombe, D/Cllr M Palmer.
 
3. Declarations of Interest: None.
 
4. To approve the minutes of the meeting held on 2 December 2025:
Under Item 6ii, confirmed that the name ‘Peak’ referred to the model of bench to be ordered. 
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the meeting held on 2nd December 2025 as a true record, and these were duly signed. 
Proposed: Cllr A Hyatt, seconded: Cllr P Bowser.  All in favour.
 
5. Comments from County Councillor, District Councillors and Chairman:
C/Cllr & D/Cllr T Bridgwood:
* Had attended Langworth’s coffee morning
* Will conduct a parish walkabout on 10th February
The Chairman thanked Cllr Bridgwood for attending LGPC meetings, acknowledging his busy schedule.
 
Chairman:
Along with Cllr J Jarvis, he had attended a virtual meeting run by Project Groundwater regarding sensors on the main waterway, which provide an early alert warning system for rising waters. One sensor is already installed, and two more will be placed once suitable locations have been identified.  Councillors should advise the Chairman if they wish to be included on the alert notification list. Locals who are vulnerable to flooding will also be asked. Action: Chairman
 
6. Clerks Report
a) Receive the financial report: 
Noted that a non-regular payment is due for the Gov.uk domain and email addresses.  Explanation was given for the A3 signage payment. Noted that some clarification is required regarding Langworth Local. Action: Clerk
RESOLVED to approve the financial report and the non-regular payment. Action: Clerk 
Proposed: Cllr R Waite, seconded: Cllr J Jarvis.  All in favour.  
 
7. To set the Langworth Group Parish Council Budget for 2026/2027:
A draft budget had been circulated. C/Cllr T Bridgwood noted that LCC may raise its budget by 4.99% to avoid cutting services. 
After consideration, RESOLVED to increase the current 2025/26 budget by 4.5% to £35,815.00 for 2026/27.
Proposed: Cllr M Herbert seconded: Cllr A Hyatt.  All in favour.  Action: Clerk
 
8. To set the final precept figure for the year 2026/2027:
RESOLVED to set the final precept figure at £35,815.00.   Action: Clerk to submit this final figure to WLDC.
